Run EGL as administrator, give "Users" access to "faulty" user folder and copy into correct folder. TLDR: Workaround: JC4 only handle user names in ascii. However, after exiting JC4 you need to copy all files into the correct folder before starting it again in order to have continue from where you left off. So you need to give "Users" write permission to it. But when running without Administrator permission I found out that the game has not access to that faulty folder. Have no clue why it saves all my stuff and settings in that folder but cannot read them?ĮDIT: I tried to copy everything from the folder: C:\Users\Torbjrn\Documents\Epic Games\Square Enix\Just Cause 4\ to the correct folder at: C:\Users\Torbjörn\Documents\Epic Games\Square Enix\Just Cause 4\ and it started up correctly with my settings and even a Continue option in the Home menu.ĮDIT2: Ok, the faulty folder was created when I tried to run the Epic Game Launcher as Administrator, as someone told me to try. So my theory now is to rename my user folder removing any non-ascii characters following random internet-dudes' howto-videos. You'll have to put it into: Steam > SteamApps > common > Just Cause 2. So the last folder is the correct user profiles folder, BUT when I look in the other I find, and only find, all save files and settings for JC4:Ĭ:\Users\Torbjrn\Documents\Epic Games\Square Enix\Just Cause 4\ The 'Dropzone' is a folder that you have to make yourself. So when I look in my Users-folder I see these folders: My account name is "Torbjörn" and JC4 don't handle unicode characters well appearently. tab.Ok, so I've found out why nothing gets saved but I don't have any solution for it. Run Just Cause 2 but before closing the game copy the two newly created separate_files.arc and separate_files.tab and copy them into the Just Cause 2\dlc\ directory replacing the pc_140.arc and. The full path should look something like C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Just Cause 2\dropzone\dlc\pack_14 This brings you to the JC3 install folder. Inside that folder place all the files that were extracted from the pc_140.arc eg, , 14_dlcinfo.bin as well as the new 14_parachute_location.blz you created. To get there, open Stean, go to library, right click Just Cause 3, set launch opations and paste this in Next, go to the Just Cause 3 Install folder (if you dont know where it is, in that steam properties window, theres a tab called local files, click it, then browse local files. If you haven't already create a dropzone folder in the main Just Cause 2 directory inside that create a folder called dlc, and inside that create a folder called pack_"number of dlc" eg "pack_14". Change the file extension on the file that was created by renaming from. Then delete the old 14_parachute_location.blz and make a new one by dragging the 14_parachute_location folder onto the Gibbed smallPacker. Open the image in photoshop and change it into something you like more and then save it with the nvidia dds plugin as a DXT5 (ensure the image has been flattened first and contains only one layer). This will extract it revealing the gae18_dif.dds which is the texture we want to change. Just Cause 3 - The lost aircrafts pack Share 00:00 01:38 Description The lost aircrafts pack includes three planes from Just Cause 1, that were never able to be controlled by players. So in order to change it you must drag the 14_parachute_location.blz file onto the Gibbed smallunpacker. We want to change the texture for the parachute to something more our style. The parachute is contained within the Just Cause 2/dlc folder under the name pc_140, open this file with the Gibbed ArchiveViewer then hit Save All and save the files in a folder of your choice. Step 1Ĭhoose the DLC you want to mod in this example I will use the Chaos Parachute. If the below steps nolonger work due to software updates, or something, let us know on the talk page, or add better instructions yourself. Photoshop with nvidia dds plugin (or similar program that supports DDS).Modding the DLC isn't much harder than normal modding, however in order to use this you will also need:
